Lollapalooza 2018 came to a close on Sunday at Grant Park in Chicago, and for the 9th year in row, TOURtech was behind the scenes making sure the music festival was connected to the internet with a solid robust network.
The network was running on a new 10GB fiber backbone that was designed, deployed, and managed onsite by the TOURtech crew. That, along with the deployment of over 500 devices, 3 miles of fiber around Grant Park, more than 17 miles of Cat5 cable, and a new onsite emergency broadcast system, made this one of the most impressive, and largest temporary networks ever deployed by our team.
We had a chance to sit down with Allen Cook (TOURtech Founder & CEO), Paulo Joaquim (Network Engineer, TOURtech), and David Fordyce (IT Director, C3 Presents) during the days leading up to gates to talk more about the history of TOURtech and Lollapalooza, while capturing some great footage of our crew in action. Check out the video below to see it all!
